Types of Dental Crowns

At Martin Mylne Dental, we provide two types of dental crown procedures:

  1. Same-Day Crowns at Cleveland: We use advanced CEREC Milling and Grinding Technology to design and create your dental crown on the same day. This means you can receive a durable, custom crown during your initial visit, saving you time and multiple appointments.

  2. Traditional Crowns at Capalaba: If you're looking for a more traditional approach, we offer crowns made off-site. The process involves two appointments—one to prepare the tooth and take impressions, and a second to place and cement the custom-made crown.

Same-Day Dental Crowns in Cleveland

Our Cleveland clinic offers fast and efficient same-day crowns with CEREC technology. Here’s how the procedure works:

  1. Consultation: During your visit, we evaluate your tooth and determine if a dental crown is the best option for you.

  2. Preparation: After numbing the area, our team prepares the tooth to receive the crown.

  3. Digital Scanning: Instead of traditional impressions, we use a CEREC digital scanner to capture accurate 3D images of your tooth in natural color. This technology ensures a precise fit for your crown.

  4. Crown Design: The CEREC software designs the dental crown based on the scan, ensuring a perfect match with your natural tooth structure.

  5. Milling and Grinding: Using CEREC’s advanced technology, the dental crown is milled and ground from high-quality ceramic material, providing durability and an excellent fit.

  6. Final Adjustments and Placement: The crown is glazed for a natural finish and adjusted for optimal comfort. After ensuring a perfect fit, the crown is cemented into place.

With CEREC technology, you can leave our Cleveland clinic with a fully restored tooth in just one visit, making it a convenient and efficient solution for those with busy schedules.

Traditional Dental Crowns at Capalaba

At our Capalaba clinic, we provide traditional crowns, which are ideal for patients who prefer a more customized approach. The process involves two visits:

  1. First Visit: We prepare the tooth, take impressions, and discuss the shade and type of crown that will best match your tooth. These impressions are then sent to a dental lab to create your custom crown.

  2. Second Visit: Once your crown is ready, we place it on the prepared tooth and ensure it fits comfortably and securely. We then cement it in place.
